About the danish Baseball5 league
Our league is built around an exciting tournament structure, offering multiple pathways for teams to compete, develop,and ultimately qualify for the prestigious Danish Championship. Whether you’re a seasoned squad or just starting your Baseball5 journey, there’s a tournament designed for you.
Tournament Types & Qualification:
The road to the Danish Championship runs through a variety of engaging tournaments throughout the season:
Official Qualifier Tournaments:
These are key events where the stakes are high! The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams at any Official Qualifier Tournament will automatically secure their spot in the Danish Championship.
Neophyte Tournaments:
Designed specifically for new or lower-ranked teams, Neophyte Tournaments provide a fantastic entry point into competitive Baseball5. They’re perfect for building experience and honing your skills. The winner of a Neophyte Tournament will earn an automatic berth in the Danish Championship.
Invitationals:
These are exclusive tournaments where the most competitive teams are invited to battle it out. Typically, the reigning Danish Champion, international teams and other high-ranking teams will receive invitations. Finishing in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place at an Invitational Tournament will also grant you automatic qualification for the Danish Championship.
Regional Championships (Jutland, Funen, Zealand):
Represent your region and compete for glory! These championships highlight the best teams from across Denmark. The winner of each Regional Championship (Jutland, Funen, and Zealand) will automatically qualify for the Danish Championship.
The Danish National Ranking
Beyond individual tournament victories, the Danish National Ranking offers an exciting alternative pathway to the Danish Championship. Teams accumulate ranking points throughout the season based on:
Game Wins:
Every victory in a sanctioned league game contributes to your ranking.
Tournament Placements:
Higher finishes in tournaments earn you more valuable ranking points.
Participation Points:
Simply by competing in certain tournaments, teams can earn participation points, rewarding consistent engagement.
Hosting Points:
Clubs or teams that take the initiative to host and plan tournaments are recognized with special hosting points, encouraging community involvement.
Officiating Points:
Clubs play a vital role in our league by providing officials for games. For every game officiated, the club earns points.
The top 3 teams in the Danish National Ranking at the end of the season will also earn a coveted spot in the Danish Championship! This means that even if you don’t win a specific tournament, consistent performance across multiple events, contributing to the league by hosting, and supporting games through officiating, can lead you to the national stage.
