First Danish Baseball5 Championship won by Aarhus Havoc

The day kicked off at 11 AM, sunday June 23, with the first game in Fælledparken, where the baseball5 field was set up for the three teams that had qualified for the Danish Championship (DM) through preliminary indoor games in January and February. The participating teams were Aarhus Havoc, Hørsholm Legends, and Østfyn Oysters. Each team played every other team in both a home and away match.

After the initial three games, there was a short break in the schedule, which was used to allow passing children and adults to try out the sport. The remaining games were then played, and it became clear that Aarhus Havoc advanced to the final undefeated, facing the Oysters, who had won both their games against the Legends.

The final was played in a best-of-three format. The first game concluded in the 4th inning due to the mercy rule, with Havoc scoring to make it 10-0. The second game also went in Havoc’s favor, and Aarhus claimed Denmark’s first-ever Danish Championship in baseball5.

There was great joy as the trophy was presented for permanent ownership and honor. With a twinkle in their eye, the Aarhus team quipped that there was indeed a trophy cabinet in Aarhus with trophies from the 80s where this new one could proudly reside—a very well-deserved addition, at any rate. Players thanked each other for a great day and bid farewell, not least to the sport itself, which will return in the autumn with new indoor tournaments for everyone.

Østfyn Oysters, 2nd place
Team Legends, 3rd place
